LOCATION - Lat 44°21'07", long 100°21'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.34, T.110 N., R.79 W., Hughes County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10140101, on left bank of La Framboise Island Recreation Area, 0.2 mi downstream from Bad River, 1.5 mi downstream from U.S. Highways 14 and 83, 7.8 mi downstream from Oahe Dam, and at mile 1,064.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 246,607 mi². approximately.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-90-1: Datum.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1988 to current year, seasonal records only beginning October 2005.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,401 ft above NAVD88. Datum was converted to NAVD88 datum using the National Geodetic Surveys VDATUM transformation tool. Prior to conversion to NAVD88 on Oct. 1, 2019 datum was published as 1,400 ft above NGVD29.
REMARKS - For Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2023, records good. Stage regulated by Big Bend Dam approximately 80 mi downstream. Flows regulated by Oahe Dam 7.8 mi upstream. Gage heights prior to October 1988 in files of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Satellite data-collection platform at station.
