LOCATION - Lat 44°20'46", long 100°19'12" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.10, T.110 N., R.79 W., Hughes County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10140101, on left bank at downstream end of La Framboise Island Recreation Area, 2.4 mi downstream from Bad River, 3.0 mi downstream from U.S. Highways 14 and 83, 9.9 mi downstream from Oahe Dam, and at mile 1,062.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 246,607 mi². approximately.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-05-1: 2004 (previously unpublished mean daily gage heights, Oct. 7, 8, Nov. 9, 10).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1998 to current year, seasonal records only beginning October 2005. Note: Entire 2011 Water Year was published due to flood conditions.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,401 ft above NAVD88. Datum was converted to NAVD88 on Oct. 1, 2019 datum using the National Geodetic Surveys VDATUM transformation tool. Prior to conversion to NAVD88 on Oct. 1 2019 datum was published a1,400 ft above NGVD29.
REMARKS - For Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2022, records good except those for Oct. 20, 2014 to Nov. 21, 2014 and Oct. 1 - 6, 2015, which are fair. Stage regulated by Big Bend Dam approximately 78 mi downstream. Flows regulated by Oahe Dam 9.9 mi upstream. Gage heights prior to October 1998 in files of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Satellite data-collection platform at station.
