LOCATION - Lat 43°10'00.9", long 101°37'56.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.19, T.37 N., R.36 W., Bennett County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10140203, on right bank 110 ft downstream from highway culvert and 5.4 mi east of Martin.
DRAINAGE AREA - 313 mi² of which 14 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1938 to September 1940, July 1962 to current year. Prior to October 1965, published as South Fork White River near Martin.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 3053.32 ft NAVD88. Prior to Aug. 14, 1938, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. Prior to Jun. 17, 1997, gage 40 ft upstream at same datum.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for, Mar. 19 to Apr. 14, 2022 which are fair, and except for Mar. 26-30, 2019, Oct. 24, 2020 to Oct. 8, 2021, Apr. 26-30, 2023, May 4-16, 2023, May 25-Jul 28, 2023, Aug. 1-Sep. 14, 2023 and estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. Satellite data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,380 ft³/s, Mar. 23, 2019, gage height 14.38 ft; Minimum daily discharge, 0.60 ft³/s, Aug. 14, 1940, also Aug. 16, 18, 1940 and no flow part of each day Oct. 19, 20, 22, 1962, due to regulation during construction.
