LOCATION - Lat 43°44'54", long 99°33'22" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.03, T.103 N., R.73 W., Lyman County, SD, Hydrologic Unit 10140204, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 47, 1.5 mi downstream from Wagner Draw, 1.8 mi upstream from high-water line of Lake Francis Case, and 8.8 mi southwest of Oacoma.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9,915 mi² of which 60 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1309: 1929-30(M). WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1928 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,378.40 ft above NAVD88.  Prior to conversion to NAVD88, datum was published as 1,377.29 ft above NGVD29. See WSP 1709, 1729, or 1917 for history of changes prior to Feb. 27, 1960.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except those below 1000 ft³/s, which are fair and those for estimated discharges, which are poor. Satellite data-collection platform at station. Suspended sediment samples collected with each discharge measurement.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 51,900 ft³/s, Mar. 30, 1952, gage height, 15.40 ft, site and datum then in use. Minimum daily discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Aug. 14, 1971, no flow for some days in 1971, 1974, 1976, 1980, 1989, and 2006.

SEDIMENT CONCENTRATION: Maximum daily mean, 72,300 mg/L, Apr. 15, 1974; minimum daily mean, 11 mg/L, Aug. 5, 2002.
