GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 1,312.12 ft above sea level. Apr. 25, 1938 to June 16, 1939, non-recording gage at site 2,600 ft downstream; June 17, 1939 to June 13, 1940, non-recording gage 2,850 ft downstream; and June 14, 1958 to July 24, 1985, water-stage recorder at site 2,600 ft downstream, all at datum 4.00 ft lower.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records fair to poor because of the difficulty of determining bed regime changes; except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. Natural flow of stream affected by irrigation and power developments.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow, 123,000 ft³/s, gage height, 19.38 ft, March 14, 2019, from rating curve extension above 41,670 ft³/s based on indirect measurement.
