LOCATION - Lat 45°56'20", long 98°27'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.33, T.129 N., R.62 W., Dickey County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 10160004, on left bank 0.4 mi upstream from State line, 7.8 mi northeast of Frederick, SD, and 15.7 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 766 mi² of which 281 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.

Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,364.89 feet above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) and 1,365 feet above the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29), from topographic map.

Previous Datums are as follows:

Prior to Jun. 14, 1962, a nonrecording gage was located at site 0.4 miles downstream and determined to be at a datum 1,364.06 feet above the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29).

REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except those for June 15 - 30, 2014, May 11 to June 14, 2015, Aug. 12 - 17, 2016, and June 9 to Oct. 19, 2020, which are fair and those for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Lowest annual mean, 0.00 ft³/s, occurred in 1959, 1988, and 1990. Minimum daily discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Oct. 1, 1956, no flow for long periods in most years.
