LOCATION - Lat 45°56'20", long 98°27'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.33, T.129 N., R.62 W., Dickey County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 10160004, on left bank 0.4 mi upstream from State line, 7.8 mi northeast of Frederick, SD, and 15.7 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 766 mi² of which 281 mi² probably is noncontributing.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1956 to current year.
REVISED RECORDS - WDR SD-10-1: Drainage area.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,365 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Jun. 14, 1962, nonrecording gage at site 0.4 mi downstream at datum 0.94 ft lower.
REMARKS - For Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2016, records good except those for June 15 - 30, 2014, May 11 to June 14, 2015, and Aug. 12 - 17, 2016, which are fair and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Satellite data-collection platform at station. Water temperature and specific conductance measured with each discharge measurement.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Lowest annual mean, 0.00 ft³/s, occurred in 1959, 1988, and 1990. Minimum daily discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, Oct. 1, 1956, no flow for long periods in most years.
