LOCATION - Lat 41°11'21", long 95°51'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.23, T.74 N., R.44 W., Pottawattamie County, IA, Hydrologic Unit 10230006, on left bank near Lake Manawa State Park access road, at south edge of Council Bluffs, 0.6 mi downstream from Indian Creek, 1.5 mi upstream from Mosquito Creek, and 607.5 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 322,840 mi².

WQ: July 2006 to September 2007, July 2012 to December 2023. 

From July 2012 to December 2023 a multi probe monitor was deployed for a study being performed by the USGS Nebraska Water Science Center in accordance with the City of Omaha. The impacts of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) dumping into the Missouri River was being studied. The continuous monitoring station at NP Dodge is deployed as the upstream location for the city. The project ended in December 2023 after a decade of data collection after funding of the site was concluded.

INSTRUMENTATION - Deployment of a continuous water-quality monitor. Measured parameters include water temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity. Turbidity measurements conform to ISO 7027 standards and were made using a Yellow Springs International (YSI) 6136 sensor. Dissolved oxygen data were collected using a luminescent sensor.
