LOCATION - Lat 39°21'21", long 104°45'46" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.15, T.8 S., R.66 W., Douglas County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 10190003, on right bank 1.3 mi downstream from Castlewood Dam site, 1.5 mi upstream from Russellville Gulch, and 2.5 mi south of Franktown.
DRAINAGE AREA - 169 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1730: Drainage area. WDR CO-87-1: 1983-85 (P).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1939 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 6,169.64 ft above NAVD of 1988, from GNSS survey.  Prior to Apr. 11, 2022, the elevation of gage was reported as 6,150 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. See WSP 1730 for history of changes prior to Oct. 1, 1953.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records fair except for flows above 400 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2016; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2017; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2018; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2019; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2020; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2021; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Many small diversions upstream from station for irrigation of about 800 acres. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Aug. 3, 1933, caused by Castlewood Dam failure, exceeded all other observed floods at this location.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 9,170 ft³/s, Aug. 5, 1945, from float measurement, gage height, 4.91 ft, site and datum then in use.
