LOCATION - Lat 40°09'26.72", long 105°00'55.42" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.09, T.2 N., R.68 W., Weld County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 10190005, on right bank 1,750 ft upstream from mouth of Boulder Creek, 1.8 mi downstream from Spring Gulch, and 4.7 mi southeast of Longmont.
DRAINAGE AREA - 423 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2013: Drainage area. August 2015: 2013, date of maximum discharge for period of record.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1976 to September 1982, August 1984 to September 2015 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 4,852 ft, above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Aug. 15, 1984, at site 150 ft downstream at same datum. Aug. 15, 1984 to Oct. 1, 1997 at site 70 ft downstream at same datum. Oct. 2, 1997 to Apr. 18, 2000 at site 100 ft upstream at same datum.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records poor. Water year 2015; records poor. Discharges are calculated by subtracting flow at Boulder Creek at Mouth near Longmont (station 06730500) from flow at St. Vrain Creek below Boulder Creek at Hwy 119 near Longmont (station 06730525). Natural flow of stream affected by storage reservoirs, diversions for irrigation, and return flow from irrigated areas.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 31,700 ft³/s, Sept. 13, 2013, from slope-area measurement of peak flow at site 3.8 mi upstream, gage height unknown.
