LOCATION - Lat 41°56'30", long 99°51'37" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.27, T.23 N., R.22 W., Blaine County, NE, Hydrologic Unit 10210006, on downstream side of State Highway 7 bridge, 0.3 mi north of Brewster.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,890 mi² of which 1,750 mi² probably is noncontributing.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1945 to September 1951, April 2010 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 2,469.04 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD1988). Apr. 2010 to Sept. 23, 2015, at present site at datum 2,468.16 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD1929). Oct. 1, 1945 to Sept. 30, 1951, at present site at datum 2,467.70 ft above NGVD1929.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 4,870 ft³/s, June 11, 2010, gage height, 4.41 ft; maximum gage height, 5.33 ft, Febuary 4, 2015, backwater from ice.
