LOCATION - Lat 40°50'48", long 96°40'54" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.07, T.10 N., R.7 E., Lancaster County, NE, Hydrologic Unit 10200203, on right bank 135 ft downstream from bridge on North 27th Street at north edge of Lincoln, 1 mi downstream from Oak Creek and at mile 31.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 685 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR NE-94-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1949 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 1,113.90 ft above sea level. Prior to July 27, 1979, water-stage recorder for stages above 6.2 ft on downstream side of bridge pier, 135 ft upstream at same datum, and non-recording gage read twice daily.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. Flood flows affected by several detention dams.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of June 2, 1951, may have been equaled or exceeded in discharge by the flood of July 6, 1908, which reached a stage of 33.6 ft. Channel changes since 1908 have materially altered the stage-discharge relation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow, 34,800 ft³/s, May 07, 2015, gage height, 28.87 ft.
