06827000 SOUTH FORK REPUBLICAN RIVER NEAR COLORADO-KANSAS STATE LINE, KS
LOCATION - Lat 39°40'18.64", long 102°00'47.74" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.27, T.4 S., R.42 W., Cheyenne County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 10250003, on left bank near downstream wingwall of bridge on county road, 2 mi downstream from CO-KS State line, 0.3 mi downstream from Cowpe Creek, 5 mi downstream from Beaver Creek, and 15 mi southwest of St. Francis and at mile 41.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,860 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - On Jan. 28, 2021 all of the water year peak discharges from the 2002 Water Year through the 2020 Water Year were flagged with an "affected by regulation or diversion" qualifier. 
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1945 to September 1956. June 2002 to current year. Records for June 1945 to September 1956 published in WSP 1086, 1116, 1146, 1176, 11210, 1241, 1280, 1340, 1390, 1440 are unreliable and should not be used.
GAGE -

Water-stage recorder.

The current Datum of gage was calculated as 3467.960 ft above sea level NAVD 88 from a static survey of RM3 using Trimble R8 equipment conducted on 7/13/21 by J. Hawkins USGS.

The previous Datum of gage was 3,467.10 ft above mean sea level. June 6, 1945, to Sept. 30, 1956, stilling well gage at same location, gage datum 3,469.98 ft above NGVD of 1929.

REMARKS - Natural flow affected by Bonny Lake (about 10 mi upstream), groundwater withdrawals, and diversions from Hale Ponds (about 5 mi upstream). Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge since gage was reinstalled in 2002 is 3200 cfs Aug. 7, 2008, gage height 12.40 ft.
