LOCATION - Lat 40°03'51", long 98°19'51" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.09, T.1 N., R.9 W., Webster County, NE, Hydrologic Unit 10250016, on right downstream bank at Nebraska State Highway 78 bridge, 0.2 mile downstream from Minnie Creek and 0.5 mile south of Guide Rock.
DRAINAGE AREA - 22,100 mi² of which 7,490 mi² probably is noncontributing.

Prior to Oct. 1, 1959, at datum 12.98 ft higher, and Nov. 3, 1959 to Nov. 28, 1984, at datum 7.98 ft higher, both at site 3.1 mi upstream (designated as station 06853000). Nov. 29, 1984 to Oct. 30, 2008 at current site and datum. Oct. 31, 2008 to Sept. 29, 2011 at site 3.1 mi upstream (station 06853000) at datum 7.98 ft higher.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum flood since at least 1826 occurred June 1 or 2, 1935, discharge, about 250,000 ft³/s, from slope-area measurements near Bloomington and Hardy.
