LOCATION - Lat 38°42'44", long 99°17'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.23, T.3 S., R.25 W., Ellis County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 10260006, on right bank, 1.5 mi upstream from Big Timber Creek, 2.1 mi east of Schoenchen, and at mile 304.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 5,810 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1981 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1886.048 ft. above NAVD88. Prior to July 29, 2021 datum was 1,885.38 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Flow mostly regulated since 1950 by Cedar Bluff Reservoir (station 06861500), 28.8 mi upstream. Natural flow also affected by groundwater withdrawals, diversions for irrigation, and return flow from irrigated areas. Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 20,500 cfs on Jul. 21, 1993 at a stage of 17.60 ft., gage datum. This is also the maximum stage for the period of record.
