LOCATION - Lat 38°56'57", long 96°51'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.03, T.13 S., R.5 E., Geary County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 10260008, at downstream side of bridge on U. S. Highway 77, 4.5 mi upstream from the Smoky Hill River, and at mile 4.4
DRAINAGE AREA - 258 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2003 to September 2004. June 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,067.87 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

Maximum flood during the period of record at the previous gage location near Woodbine (06878500) reached a stage of 28.63 ft on May 22, 1961 (discharge 21,400 cfs from rating curve extended above 12,000 cfs). A flood in July 1951 reached a stage of about 30 ft (nr Woodbine, 06878500), from information from M. F. Ruhnke local observer (discharge 93,000 cfs, from slope area measurement).

Maximum flood during the period of record at the current gage location reached a stage of 28.17 ft on May 9, 2019 (discharge 9,360 cfs from rating curve 006 in Aquarius, validated by measurment 77 made on May 8, 2019).
