LOCATION - Lat 39°01'03.0", long 94°20'06.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.33, T.49 N., R.31 W., Jackson County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10300101, in maintenance building at right end of dam on East Fork Little Blue River, 2.2 mi west of Blue Springs, and 2.5 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 32.8 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Reservoir elevation for the period Sep 17, 2018 to Jul 31, 2019, was revised based on a staff plate correction. See the "Reference Marks" element for the date of Jan 31, 2020 for additional details on how this determination was made. 
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 0.04 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers).
REMARKS - Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS MO Water Science Center.   Lake is formed by a rolled earth-fill type dam. An uncontrolled limited service type spillway 300 ft wide is located on left abutment. Capacity of surcharge pool, 3,310 acre-ft (elevation 820.3 to 823.6 ft); of flood control pool, 15,900 acre-ft (elevation 802.0 to 820.3 ft); and of multipurpose pool, 10,640 acre-ft (elevation 760.0 to 802.0 ft).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents, 22,800 acre-ft, May 17, 1990, elevation, 816.37 ft; minimum contents, 142 acre-ft, Oct 22, 29, 30, and Nov 1-11, 1988, elevation, 773.10 ft.
