LOCATION - Lat 40°04'09.5", long 93°38'16.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.19, T.61 N., R.24 W., Grundy County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10280102, at left downstream side of bridge near Trenton, 2.6 mi downstream from Weldon River, and at mile 25.2.

DRAINAGE AREA - 1,720 mi².

REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1116: 1945(M); WDR US 2009: 1981.
Revisions: Gage datum was revised to 710.29 ft NAVD88 on May 31, 2023, as determined by a GNSS Level II survey. Gage datum was previously published in error Oct. 1, 2014, to May 31, 2023, as 720.29 ft NAVD88.
Revisions: Gage datum Oct. 1, 1998, to Sept. 30, 2003, was 710.26 ft NGVD29. Gage datum was published in error for this period as 721.87 ft NGVD29.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - Jun 1921 to Sep 1923, Aug 1928 to current year. Jun 1921 to Sep 1923, published as "near Hickory". Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1310. Gage-height records collected in vicinity 1910-14 and since 1925 in reports of the National Weather Service.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 710.29 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Jun 25, 1921, to Aug 26, 1923, nonrecording gage at two sites 12 mi downstream (by old channel route) at different datums; Aug 23, 1928, to Sep 15, 1930, nonrecording gage at site 0.8 mi upstream from current site at datum of 721.87 NGVD29; Sep 16, 1930, to May 31 1945, nonrecording gage at site 0.7 mi downstream at datum 3.46 ft lower; Jun 1, 1945, to Dec 7, 1959, nonrecording gage at same site and datum; Dec 8, 1959 to Oct 27, 1998 at site 0.8 mi upstream from current site at datum 721.87 ft. NGVD29. Oct 28, 1998, to Oct. 1, 2002, at datum 720.29 ft. Datum lowered 10 ft. on Oct. 1, 2002.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known, 30.7 ft, Jul 6, 1909, present site and datum, from information by local residents; discharge, 50,000 ft³/s, determined by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, occurred before new channel was dredged.
