LOCATION - Lat 38°47'13.9", long 90°28'18.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 sec.29, T.47 N., R.5 E., St. Louis County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10300200, on right bank approximately 1/4 mi downstream from State Highway A, on the St. Charles Sand Company property, and at mile 27.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 524,000 mi². the 3,959 mi² in Great Divide basin are not included.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Apr 1, 2000 to current year. Apr 15, 1932 to Oct 1944 recording gage; Feb 16, 1984 to Sep 30, 1997 stage only operated by U.S.G.S.; Oct 1, 1997 to Apr 1, 2000, stage only operated by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 413.47 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Prior to Mar 4, 1994 datum of gage was 413.58 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS MO Water Science Center.  Some regulation from many upstream reservoirs.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Aug 2-3, 1993 reached a stage of 40.04 ft. by levels of good highwater mark.
