LOCATION - Lat 36°37'43", long 88°57'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Hickman County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 08010201, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 51, 1.1 miles upstream from Cane Creek, 3.2 miles southeast of Clinton, and at mile 15.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 68.7 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WSP 1311: 1940 (M), 1942-44 (M). WSP 1711: Drainage area. WDR-KY-89: 1985-89 (m).

Datum of gage was previously reported as 307.71 ft above NGVD of 1929.  This datum was revised on Nov 22, 2022.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1939 to September 1950 (monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1311), October 1950 to September 1978, September 1984 to current year. Published as "Bayou de Chien near Clinton", October 1954 to September 1968.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with telemetry. Datum is 307.39 feet above NAVD of 1988 and 307.18 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to August 2, 1951, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
COOPERATION - City of Fulton.
REMARKS - Minimum flow affected by backwater from the Mississippi River.  Waste water treatment plant about 10 miles upstream has frequent releases.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

Maximum discharge was, 9,460 ft³/s, gage height 16.79 feet, January 2, 1966.
