LOCATION - Lat 37°09'14.7", long 91°21'29.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.26, T.29 N., R.4 W., Shannon County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 11010008, on right downstream bridge abutment on State Highway 19, 1.5 mi downstream from Mahans Creek, and 8.0 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 398 mi².

Prior to Jan 27, 1934, nonrecording gage at site 1,350 ft upstream at datum 2.11 ft higher; Jan 27, 1934, to Jan 10, 1935, nonrecording gage at site 75 ft downstream at datum 0.04 ft lower; Jan 11, 1935, to Jul 9, 1964, nonrecording gage at site 50 ft downstream at present datum.

REMARKS - Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS MO Water Science Center.  
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Floods of 1895 and Mar 1904 reached a stage of about 27 ft, present site and datum, from information by local residents.
