LOCATION - Lat 39°11'08.6", long 106°23'00.1" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.18, T.10 S., R.80 W., Lake County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020001, near San Isabel National Forest boundary, on left bank at Halfmoon Creek Diversion, 2.7 mi upstream from mouth, and 6.7 mi southwest of Leadville City Hall.
DRAINAGE AREA - 24.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2009 to current year (seasonal records only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry, crest-stage gage, and v-notch weir. Elevation of gage is 9,720 ft above WGS 84, from Global Positioning System technology.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; no estimated daily discharges. Records good except for the period May 1 to June 11, which is fair. Water year 2015; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2016; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2017; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2018; no estimated daily discharges. Records good. Water year 2019; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records represent undiverted flow and diverted return flow measured about 500 ft downstream from the Halfmoon diversion structure.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 275 ft³/s, July 8, 2011, from rating curve extended above 107 ft³/s on basis of runoff comparison with upstream station, gage height, 4.08 ft.
