LOCATION - Lat 38°15'13", long 104°36'20" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.06, T.21 S., R.64 W., Pueblo County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020002, on right bank 10 ft upstream from Saint Charles Mesa Water District intake at Moffat Street at Pueblo, 150 ft downstream from Santa Fe Avenue bridge, and 1.1 mi upstream from Fountain Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,720 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR CO-90-1: 1989 (M). WDR-US-2011: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and concrete control. Elevation of gage is 4,653 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Water year 2016; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Water year 2017; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Water year 2018; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Water year 2019; records fair except for flows above 4,450 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2020; no estimated daily discharges. Records fair. Records do not include diversion for municipal supply of Saint Charles Mesa Water District. Natural flow of stream affected by storage reservoirs, power developments, transbasin and transmountain diversions, diversions for irrigation and municipal use, groundwater withdrawals, return flows from irrigated areas, and flows from sewage-treatment plants. Flow almost completely regulated by Pueblo Reservoir (station 07099350) 8 mi upstream since Jan. 9, 1974.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 10,400 ft³/s, June 3, 1994, from rating curve extended above 5,710 ft³/s on basis of slope-conveyance and area-velocity study, gage height, 14.18 ft.
