07106300 FOUNTAIN CREEK NEAR PINON, CO
LOCATION - Lat 38°25'46", long 104°35'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.06, T.19 S., R.64 W., Pueblo County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020003, near right bank on downstream side of Pace Road bridge, 0.6 mi southeast of Pinon, and 1.8 mi upstream from Steele Hollow Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 865 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2006: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1973 to current year. Low-flow records may not be equivalent prior to October 1995, as a result of varying underflow (diversion system) entering between the sites.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 4,990 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Apr. 10, 1973 to Apr. 22, 1976, nonrecording gage, and Apr. 23, 1976 to Sept. 30, 1995, water-stage recorder at site 1.4 mi upstream at different datum. Oct. 1, 1995 to Oct. 6, 2004, at various locations within 70 ft downstream from underflow mouth, 0.9 mi upstream, at datum 16.62 ft higher (see Water Science Center office for full location history). Prior to May 21, 2016, at datum 5.00 ft lower.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records good except for the period July 21 to Aug. 21, which is fair, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2016; records poor. Water year 2017; records poor. Water year 2018; records poor. Water year 2019; records poor. Water year 2020; records fair except for flows above 200 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2021; no estimated daily discharges. Records fair except for flows above 500 ft³/s, which are poor. Water year 2022; records fair except for flows above 250 ft³/s and below 35 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2023; records fair except for flows above 350 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Natural flow of stream affected by storage reservoirs, power developments, groundwater withdrawals, transmountain diversions, diversions for irrigation and municipal use, return flows from irrigated areas, and flows from sewage-treatment plants.
