LOCATION - Lat 36°51'04", long 95°35'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.03, T.27 N., R.16 E., Nowata County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11070103, on right bank on downstream side of State Highway 10 bridge, 2.8 mi east of Lenapah, 5.5 mi upstream from Cedar Creek, and at mile 144.6.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3,584 mi². From automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

Prior to 10/10/2022 datum in use was 644.90 NGVD29. Some regulation since April 1949 by Fall River Reservoir in Kansas. Flow regulated since 1960 by Toronto Lake in Kansas. Flow has been further regulated since 1966 by Elk City Lake in Kansas.
