LOCATION - Lat 36°45'20", long 95°58'19" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.12, T.26 N., R.12 E., Washington County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11070106, at right bank, 0.2 mi upstream from State Highway 123 bridge and low-water dam, 0.5 mi downstream from Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroad bridge, 1.0 mi upstream from confluence with Coon Creek, 2.7 mi downstream from confluence with Butler Creek, 5.0 mi upstream from confluence with Sand Creek, and at mile 68.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,369 mi². From automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' satellite telemeter at station. Current datum in use is 653.83 NAVD88. Current datum determined by GNSS Level II REF FRAME: NAD_83(2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000) ITRF2014 (EPOCH:2022.7225)[NAVD88 (Computed using GEOID18)] Tied to RM-5.  Prior to 10/01/2022 datum in use was 653.33 above NGVD of 1929.  Considerable regulation by Hulah Lake 27.0 miles upstream, and Copan Lake 12.0 miles upstream.
