LOCATION - Lat 38°28'01", long 96°15'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.24, T.18 S., R.10 E., Lyon County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 11070201, on right bank, 0.1 mi below Ruggles Dam, 2.0 mi south of Americus, 12.5 mi upstream from Allen Creek, and 24.0 mi upstream from Cottonwood River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 622 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1963 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,106.99 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Apr. 10, 1989, to Nov. 1990, at site 0.4 mi upstream at present datum. Aug. 8, 1963, to Apr. 11, 1989, and Nov. 21, 1990, to current year, water-stage recorder at present site and datum.
REMARKS - Flow moderately regulated since 1964 by Council Grove Lake (station 07179400). Low flow occasionally regulated by Ruggles Dam 0.1 mi upstream. Satellite telemeter at station.
