Click to hide Water-Year Summary instructions and information
  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

LOCATION - Lat 35°30'01", long 97°11'37" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.22, T.12 N., R.1 E., Oklahoma County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11100302, on left bank downstream side county road bridge, 2.2 mi northwest of Harrah, 3.8 mi downstream from Choctaw Creek, and at mile 230.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 13,775 mi² of which 3,497 mi² probably is noncontributing. from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR 2012: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1968 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1056.03 above NAVD of 1988 determined by GNSS Level 4 Survey using Alltera network with RTK Trimble R-10 tied to RM-8 by USGS Personnel on 05/12/22. Previous datum of gage is 1055.69 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS -

10/01/2021- 09/30/2022 records good. Quality of data for other periods can be obtained by contacting the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center.

Flow regulated by Canton Lake (station 07238500) and by Lake Overholser (station 07240500) where diversions are made into Lake Hefner Canal (station 07240000). Low flow sustained in part by sewage effluent.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -

WATER TEMPERATURE: October 1968 to current year.

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: October 1968 to current year.

pH: October 1988 to current year.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: October 1988 to current year.

REMARKS -

Accuracy rating of the record for the 2022 Water Year:

WATER TEMPERATURE: Fair; Evidence that the temperature sensor started to fail began on 8/22/22. The remaining data from that point to the end of the water year was removed after a 5-point temperature check against a NIST-certified thermistor proved the sensor was not measuring accurately. The available data prior to 8/22/22 is believed to be accurate.

SPECIFIC CONDUCTIVITY: Fair; Minimal fouling and calibration drift corrections were applied. Due to the temperature sensor failing after 8/22/22, all of the data following 8/22/22 through the end of the water year was also removed as specific conductance measurements depend on temperature.

PH: Fair; Minimal fouling and calibration drift corrections were applied. Due to the temperature sensor failing after 8/22/22, all of the data following 8/22/22 through the end of the water year was also removed as pH measurements depend on temperature.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Poor; Many fouling and calibration drift corrections, some of fairly large magnitude. Some large data gaps occurred. Due to the temperature sensor failing after 8/22/22, all of the data following 8/22/22 through the end of the water year was also removed as dissolved oxygen measurements depend on temperature.

Interruptions in record were due to malfunctions of the recording instrumentation, low water, or corrections to the data that exceeded allowable limits of correction.

Quality of data for other periods can be obtained by contacting the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center.
