LOCATION - Lat 35°15'44", long 95°14'13" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.07, T.9 N., R.20 E., Haskell County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11090204, on right downstream bank at end of bridge on State Highway 2, 0.8 mi north of Whitefield, 5.5 mi upstream from Taloka (Snake) Creek, 8.2 mi downstream from Eufaula Dam, and at mile 18.8.
DRAINAGE AREA - 47,283 mi² of which 8,134 mi² probably is noncontributing. from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1938 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1311.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 473.58  above NAVD of 1988 determined by GNSS Level II Survey using Alltera network with RTK Trimble R-10 tied to RM-10 by USGS Personnel on 08-08-2019. Prior to 08-08-2019 Datum of gage was 473.16 ft above NGVD of 1929. From July 26, 1983 to Oct. 1, 1978, a water-stage recorder at site 400 ft upstream at same datum. From Sept. 30, 1978 to Oct. 1, 1948 a water-stage recorder at site 400 ft upstream and at datum 5.00 ft higher. From Sept. 30, 1948 to June 12, 1947 a water-stage recorder at site 2.1 mi downstream at datum 2.20 ft higher. From June 1, 1947 to Dec. 11, 1941, a water-stage recorder at site 400 ft upstream and at datum 5.00 ft higher. Dec. 10, 1941 to Jan. 11, 1939, a water-stage recorder at site 2.1 mi downstream at datum 2.20 ft higher. From Jan. 11, 1939 to establishment in October 1938, a nonrecording gage was located at the same at site 2.1 mi downstream at datum 2.20 ft higher.
REMARKS -

Except for 54 mi² of intervening area, site is completely regulated thereafter by Eufaula Lake (station 07244800).

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since 1898, that of May 10, 1943, 25.5 ft., from information by local resident. Maximum discharge, 281,000 ft³/s, May 10, 1943. Minimum daily discharge, 0.4 ft³/s, October 8, 1956.
AVERAGE DISCHARGE FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - Prior to regulation, water years 1939-63, 6,005 ft³/s.
