LOCATION - Lat 34°53'22", long 99°18'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 sec.22, T.5 N., R.20 W., Greer County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11120302, on right bank at State Highway 44A bridge, 3,500 ft downstream from Altus Dam, 1.9 mi upstream from Elm Fork of North Fork, 2.0 mi west of Lugert, and at mile 72.8.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,832 mi² of which 579 mi² probably is noncontributing. from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1930 to December 1932 (published as "at Lugert Dam"), December 1943 to September 1950 (published as spill from Lake Altus), October 1950 to September 1962, August 1964 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 131
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1472.47ft  NAVD of 1988 determined by GNSS 4hr observation Survey with Trimble R-10 tied to RM-4 by USGS Personnel on 08/30/2022. Prior to 08/30/2022 datum of gage was 1471.81ft NGVD 1929. Mar. 19, 1930 to Dec. 21, 1932, nonrecording gage at former Lugert Dam, 0.7 mi upstream at datum 1,504.31 ft National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, unadjusted.
REMARKS - 10/01/2022 - 09/30/2023: records fair. Flow completely regulated by Lake Altus-Lugert since December 1943. Records do not include diversions for irrigation from Lake Altus-Lugert. Quality of data for other periods can be obtained by contacting the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center. 

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 16, 1928, reached a stage of 14.5 ft, site and datum in use 1930-32, discharge, 14,300 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 16,100 ft³/s, May 18, 1951, gage height, 12.70 ft, maximum gage height, 16.37 ft, May 21, 1977, (backwater from Elm Fork of the North Fork Red River); no flow at times in several years.
