LOCATION - Lat 33°39'45", long 98°36'46" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Archer County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 11130209, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 79, 1.5 mi downstream from confluence of North and Middle Forks, and 4.8 mi north of Archer City.
DRAINAGE AREA - 481 mi². of which 275 mi² is above Lake Kickapoo.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 934.72 ft above NGVD of 1929 and 934.67 above NAVD of 1988. Aug. 17, 1954, to Jan. 6, 1956, nonrecording gage at present site and datum. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Since water year 1946, at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. The city of Wichita Falls diverts water from Lake Kickapoo (station 07314000) for municipal use and wholesale customers. No flow at times. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of June 1930 reached a stage of about 28 ft, from information by Texas Department of Transportation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - WATER YEARS 1933-1945: Maximum discharge, 17,900 ft³/s Oct. 31, 1941 (gage height, 21.80 ft); no flow at times.
AVERAGE DISCHARGE FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - 13 years (water years 1933-1945), 110 ft³/s (79,700 acre-ft/yr).
