LOCATION - Lat 35°32'20", long 99°10'10" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.01, T.12 N., R.19 W., Custer County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11130302, on right bank at downstream side county road bridge, 0.4 mi downstream from Oak Creek, 0.9 mi downstream from Foss Dam, 2.5 mi west of Stafford, 6.0 mi north of Foss, and at mile 473.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,526 mi² of which 12 mi² probably is noncontributing. from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR 2012: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1956 to April 1957, February to December 1958, July 1961 to September 1987, October 1989 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1557.89ft NAVD of 1988 determined by GNSS 4hr observation Survey with Trimble R-10 tied to RM-7 by USGS Personnel on 08/03/2022. Prior to 08/03/2022 datum of gage was 1560ft NGVD 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS -

10/01/2022 - 09/30/2023: records fair.  Quality of data for other periods can be obtained by contacting the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center.  Flow completely regulated since 1961 by Foss Reservoir (station 07324300), except for 55 mi² intervening area.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in May 1959 reached a stage of 23.4 ft, from floodmark.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record 14,000 ft³/s, Apr. 19, 1957, from rating curve extended above 3,600 ft³/s, on basis of velocity-area study.
