LOCATION - Lat 34°14'00", long 96°58'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.03, T.4 S., R.3 E., Carter County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11130303, on right bank on downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 177, 1.3 mi downstream from Caddo Creek, 3.2 mi north of Dickson, 12.0 mi northeast of Ardmore, and at mile 63.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7,172 mi² of which 12 mi² probably is noncontributing. From automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1928 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1311. Prior to Oct. 1, 1979, published as Washita River near Durwood.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 650.45 feet above NAVD of 1988  determined by GNSS Level 4 Survey using Alltera network with RTK Trimble R-10 tied to RM-17 by USGS personnel on 6/29/2020. Prior to 6/29/2020 the datum of the gage was 650.57ft above NGVD of 1929. (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Feb. 16, 1939, nonrecording gage, at same site and datum. Dec. 15, 1950, to Feb. 19, 1952, nonrecording gage, at site 500 ft upstream, at same datum. Apr. 24, 1975, to May 8, 1986, water-stage recorder, at site 500 ft upstream, at same datum.

Some diversions for irrigation upstream from station. Flow regulated by Fort Cobb Reservoir (station 07325900) since March 1959; by Foss Reservoir (station 07324300) since February 1961; by Arbuckle Reservoir (station 07329890) since January 1967; and by numerous flood-retarding structures since Oct. 1961.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 126,000 ft³/s, June 19, 2015, Maximum gage height 48.70 ft, June 19, 2015; No flow at times, Minimum gage height 0.32 ft on October 7, 2004.
