07343840 White Oak Creek at IH 30 near Omaha, TX
LOCATION - Lat 33°16'29", long 94°48'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Morris County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 11140303, on downstream side of eastbound Interstate Highway 30, 11.8 miles northeast of Mount Pleasant, 4.4 miles southwest of the Highway 259 intersection, and 0.30 miles northeast of the border between Titus and Morris Counties.
DRAINAGE AREA - 748 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 2010 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 240.01 ft above NGVD of 1929; 239.74 ft above NAVD of 1988. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Daily mean discharges less than 10 ft³s are considered poor. Since installation of gage, at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. There are several small diversions upstream from station for municipal supply. The cities of Sulphur Springs and Mount Vernon discharge wastewater effluent into tributaries above this station. No flow at times.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1870, 22.9 ft, Mar. 31, 1945 (at site and datum of upstream station 07343500), from floodmarks and from information by local residents.
