LOCATION - Lat 29°18'16.3", long 89°35'49.2" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Plaquemines Parish, LA, Hydrologic Unit 08090301, located on top of 6ftx6ft platform in the Empire Waterway, approximately 4.88 miles south of the Empire Flood Gates.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 2017 to present
GAGE - Water level recoder consist of a non-contact water stage recorder housed in aluminum shelter approximately 15ft above water level. Datum of gage is 4.50ft below NAVD88 (GEOID12B) EPOCH 2010.0000.
COOPERATION - Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
REMARKS - Site affected by wind and tide. Satellite telemetry at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum recorded gage height, 11.00 ft, Aug 29, 2021, Hurricane Ida. Minimum recorded gage height, 2.90 ft, Jan 17, 2018.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water quality multiprobe collecting water temperature, specific conductance, dissolved oxygen, pH, chlorophyll and turbidity.
REMARKS -

Turbidity and chlorophyll data heavily affected by oyster harvesting in the area. Turbidity data considered poor due to severe biofouling at the site location and extreme wind events causing significant turbulence.

Maximum recorded turbidity value estimated due to exceedance of quality control standard check.
