LOCATION - Lat 29°57'04.0", long 92°09'22.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.60, T.12 S., R.3 E., Vermilion Parish, LA, Hydrologic Unit 08080103, at bridge on State Highway 82 at Perry, 2.0 mi south of Abbeville.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1978 to September 1984 (gage heights only), October 1984 to September 2015, October 2015 to current(unit values only). Unpublished gage-height records, August 1960 to September 1978, available in files of the USGS Louisiana Water Science Center, Baton Rouge Field Office.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and acoustic velocity meter. Datum of gage is 3.46 ft below NGVD of 1929 (levels by LADOTD, Office of Highways). Prior to 1997 datum of gage is 3.34 ft below NGVD of 1929. Prior to 1982 datum of gage 2.95 ft below NGVD of 1929.

Minimum gage heights prior to Dec. 6, 2012 are indeterminate due to equipment limitations.

Positive and negative flows at this site are defined by direction and are specified to be parallel to the channel at the gage location. The Positive flow direction is East-southeast.

Streamflow at this site is affected significantly by astronomical tides. Astronomical tides cause significant cycles of approximately 24.84 hours at this site. Because a different portion of the 24.84 hour tidal cycle is averaged in successive daily (24-hour) computations, a systematic secondary oscillation, unrelated to basin hydrology and having a period of about two weeks may be apparent in daily data published from October 1973 to September 2015.
