LOCATION - Lat 32°47'21", long 97°24'58" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Tarrant County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12030102, at Lake Worth Dam on West Fork Trinity River, 240 ft to right of right end of uncontrolled concrete spillway, 2.9 mi upstream from Farmer's Branch, 3.3 mi upstream from bridge on State Highway 183 crossing West Fork Trinity River, 5.3 mi northwest of Tarrant County Courthouse in Fort Worth, and at mile 572.0.

DRAINAGE AREA - 2,052 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD of 1988. Prior to Oct. 1, 2016, gage datum was 0.03 ft higher at NGVD of 1929. Satellite telemeter at station.

COOPERATION - Capacity Table 1-C was provided by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and put into effect Feb. 1968. Capacity Table 2 was provided by the Texas Water Development Board and put into effect Oct. 2003.

REMARKS - Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. The lake is formed by a rolled earthfill dam 3,200 ft long, with an uncontrolled concrete spillway 700 ft long near the center of the dam. Deliberate impoundment began in June 1914 and the dam was completed in Oct. 1914. There is a 48-in diameter pipe controlled by a 36-in valve, which may be used to make small releases through the dam. The dam is owned by the City of Fort Worth. Conservation pool storage is 38,130 acre-ft. Data regarding the dam are given in the following table:
