LOCATION - Lat 32°39'54", long 97°26'30" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Tarrant County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12030102, on left bank 1.5 mi downstream from Benbrook Dam, 1.7 mi southeast of Benbrook, 2.9 mi upstream from Marys Creek, and 13.1 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 431 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 604.22 ft above NGVD of 1929; 604.14 ft above NAVD of 1988. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. Since water year 1953, flows have been regulated by Benbrook Lake dam. No flow at times most years.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - WATER YEARS 1948-1952: Maximum discharge, 82,900 ft³/s, May 17, 1949, gage height, 28.72 ft from rating curve extended above 11,000 ft³/s on basis of velocity-area studies and slope-area measurement of 82,900 ft³/s; no flow at times most years.
AVERAGE DISCHARGE FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - 5 years (water years 1948-52) prior to regulation by Benbrook Lake, 105 ft³/s (76,070 acre-ft/yr).
