LOCATION - Lat 32°30'12", long 96°06'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Kaufman County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12030107, on downstream side of Farm Road 1836 bridge, 3.6 mi upstream from Williams Creek, 8.1 mi northeast of Kemp, and 51.5 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 189 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Jan. 1963 to Sept. 1987, Oct. 2002 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 341.48 ft above NGVD of 1929 and 341.63 ft above NAVD of 1988. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water may not be available electronically. Since installation of gage in Jan. 1963, at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. At times flow is affected by discharge from floodwater-retarding structures controlling runoff from 55.9 mi². No flow at times.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1889, about 20.5 ft in 1945, from information by Texas Department of Transportation and local residents.
