LOCATION - Lat 32°14'36", long 96°38'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Ellis County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12030109, on upstream side of Bardwell Dam Road, 0.70 mi downstream from Bardwell Dam, 3.00 mi downstream from bridge on State Highway 34, 3.60 mi southeast of Bardwell, and 4.10 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 178 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 360.18 ft above NGVD of 1929; 360.62 ft above NAVD of 1988 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers benchmark). Prior to Oct. 2, 1998, at datum 10.0 ft higher. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. Since installation of gage, at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. No known diversions. No flow at times.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1944, about 23 ft in 1944 and 1945, from information by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
