LOCATION - Lat 29°57'32", long 95°43'03" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Harris County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12040102, on right bank at bridge on House-Hahl Road, 1.4 mi southwest of Cypress, and 6.3 mi downstream from Cypress Creek at Katy-Hockley Road near Hockley (station 08068720).
DRAINAGE AREA - 131 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1975 to current year. PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-Quality.-- CHEMICAL DATA: Jan. 1977 to Aug. 1991. PESTICIDE DATA: Jan. 1977 to Aug. 1991.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD 1988, 2001 adjustment. Prior to Oct. 1, 2012, datum of gage was 100.00 ft above NGVD of 1929 (98.45 ft above current datum). Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation. Stage-discharge relation affected by seasonal vegetal growth during most years. Considerable diversions and return flow from irrigation occurs upstream from station, especially during the period Apr. through Oct. No flow at times. Gage height associated with historical peak discharge is referenced to datum then in use. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since about 1908, about 49 ft in 1937 (datum then in use), from information by local resident.
