LOCATION - Lat 29°55'05", long 95°18'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Harris County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12040104, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 59 access road, 10.5 mi northeast of Houston, 12.0 mi upstream from Halls Bayou, and 23.4 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 68.7 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD of 1988, 2001 adjustment; unadjusted for land-surface subsidence. Prior to Oct. 2006, datum of gage 0.66 ft below NGVD of 1929, 1957 adjustment; unadjusted for land-surface subsidence (5.42 ft above current datum). Radio telemeter at station. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation or diversions. Gage height associated with historical peak discharge is referenced to datum then in use. Channel was rectified during water years 1974-75. Low flow is sustained by industrial releases and wastewater effluent. No flow at times. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
