LOCATION - Lat 29°33'15", long 95°01'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Galveston County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12040204, on State Highway 146 between Seabrook and Kemah.
DRAINAGE AREA - 167 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Feb. 1998 to current.
GAGE - Water-stage recorders located on upstream (Clear Lake) and downstream (Galveston Bay) sides of flood gate structure. Datum of gage is National American Vertical Datum of 1988, 2001 adjustment. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Stage affected by astronomical tidal influences. Stage records are needed for flood gate operation during storms and to provide data base for telemetry used to provide flood warning. During storm periods, when flow in Clear Creek exceeds 2,000 ft³/s, gates will be opened to allow more water to flow out of Clear Lake.
