LOCATION - Lat 29°21'26", long 94°55'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Galveston County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12040204, in pumping station located at Galveston County Seawall Maintenance headquarters, 0.15 mi west of Loop 197, in Texas City, on landward side of Texas City hurricane protection levee, and 2.1 mi west of Galveston Bay.
DRAINAGE AREA - Not determined (stage-only station).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Mar. 1988 to current.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder.  Datum of gage is NGVD 1929, 1987 adjustment, 0.14 ft above NAVD of 1988. Telephone modem and satellite telemeter at station.

 

REMARKS - Water level behind Texas City Flood Control levy monitored by stage recorder.  During storm periods, excess runoff behind the levee will be pumped into Galveston Bay.
