LOCATION - Lat 32°23'30.31", long 99°51'10.87" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Taylor County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12060102, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on FM 707, 1.2 mi. north of Caps, 4.6 mi. southwest of intersection of U.S. HWYs 277 and 83 in Abilene, and 10.3 mi. upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 39.1 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1963 to September 1979 (discontinued). August 2024 to May 22, 2025.
GAGE - Water stage recorder. Datum of gage is ___  above NAVD of 1988. Prior to August of 2024, datum of gage was 1786.12 ft. above NGVD of 1929.
COOPERATION - Air Force Civil Engineering Center, AFCEC.
REMARKS - Records fair. No known diversions above station. Rain gage at station prior to May 31, 1978.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since 1903, about 15 ft. in 1913 (previous datum), from information by local residents.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -  Maximum discharge, 2,180 ft³/s Sept. 18, 1974, gage height, 11.52 ft. (previous datum); no flow for many days each year.
AVERAGE DISCHARGE FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - 16 years, 2.09 ft³/s, 1,510 acre-ft/yr.
