LOCATION - Lat 32°30'26.3", long 99°44'27.7" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Taylor County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12060102, on left bank 134 ft to left of left end of bridge and 45 ft downstream from Business Highway 83 (Pine St.) in the city of Abilene, TX.
DRAINAGE AREA - 422 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct. 1, 1979 to Sept. 30, 1983 (continuous stage and full-range discharge). Feb. 08, 2018 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,634.063 ft. above NAVD88. Satellite telemeter at station.
COOPERATION - Texas Water Development Board.
REMARKS - Flow largely regulated by Lake Abilene near Buffalo Gap, TX, 22.6 miles upstream.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - No flows above the high channel banks since at least 1903 according to historical information from a local resident.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - Unknown. Site has been regulated by at least 10% since the impounding of Lake Abilene in 1921, about 22.6 miles south of the current gage.
