LOCATION - Lat 29°30'42", long 95°44'48" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Fort Bend County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12070104, located on the downstream left embankment of wooden bridge on Ricefield Road.
DRAINAGE AREA - 8.65 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1732: Drainage area. WSP 1922: 1959-60. WDR TX-76-2: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct. 1958 to Sept. 1979, Dec. 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD 1988. Prior to Sept. 30, 1979, datum of gage 71.90 ft above NGVD of 1929. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No flow at times. Discharge includes runoff from irrigation, and at times flow is supplemented by water from Richmond Irrigation Co.'s canal. Publication of supplemental peak discharges was discontinued in Sept. 1977 because of increased releases of water into Dry Creek from Richmond Canal. Water is stored at Smither's Lake and used for cooling of electrical power generators for irrigation. Recording rain gage in basin from Jan. 1969 to Sept. 1974. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
