LOCATION - Lat 31°19'51", long 100°36'02" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Tom Green County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12090102, on right bank at confluence of Spring and Dove Creeks, 2.3 mi downstream from Spring Creek above Tankersley (station 08129300), 4.3 mi downstream from Dove Creek at Knickerbocker (station 08130500), 4.9 mi upstream from Twin Buttes Reservoir Dam, and 13.2 mi southwest of San Angelo.

DRAINAGE AREA - 688 mi² of which 31 mi² probably is noncontributing.

Site is regulated by weir dams at approximate river mileages upstream of the gaging site on Spring Creek at the following locations:

Unnamed dam 0.45mi upstream, Ripple Reservoir dam 0.85mi upstream, unnamed dam at USGS site 08129300 2.38mi upstream, Rust Reservoir dam 3.08mi upstream, unnamed dam 4.50mi upstream, unnamed dam 4.92mi upstream, unnamed dam 5.57mi upstream, Metcalfes Spring Creek Reservoir 6.30mi upstream, unnamed dam 7.34mi upstream, unnamed dam 8.59mi upstream, and Ball Reservoir dam 9.27mi upstream. Other unnamed dams exist upstream of Ball Reservoir that regulate this site.

Site is regulated by weir dams at approximate river mileages upstream of the gaging site on the Dove Creek tributary to Spring Creek at the following locations:
