LOCATION - Lat 30°28'44.45", long 99°46'40.94" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Kimble County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12090204, approximately 4.88 mi upstream from USGS station 08150000.
DRAINAGE AREA - 879 mi². Drainage area = 880 square miles found on South Llano River Bridge Layout FM 2169 plans dated 2010/01/13. This bridge is where the gage is located.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,677.37 ft. above NAVD88. Satellite telemeter at station.
COOPERATION - Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB)
REMARKS - Low flow at the gage is affected to an unknown degree by multiple low water crossings including but not limited to about 4.2mi, 10.1mi, 11.7mi, 14.4mi, 15.9mi, & 17.6mi upstream of the site. At about 19.1mi upstream of the gage is the confluence of the South Llano River and Paint Creek. A low water check dam is located on Paint Creek about 0.3mi upstream of this confluence forming Paint Creek Ranch Lake.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - None known.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 66,700 ft³/s (Gage-height, 27.27 ft., from floodmark), Oct. 08, 2018, by slope area measurement. Minimum discharge, 25.9 ft³/s, gage-height 1.99 ft., Aug. 19, 2023.
