LOCATION - Lat 30°16'59", long 97°39'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Travis County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12090205, on left bank, 10 ft upstream from bridge on Farm Road 969, 0.8 mi downstream from Little Walnut Creek, 2.8 mi upstream from Colorado River, 5.2 mi east of the State Capitol Building in Austin, and 2.8 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 51.3 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR TX-00-4: (daily mean discharge, Feb. 11, 1999).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1966 to current year.
GAGE -

Water-stage recorder.  Satellite telemetry at station.

Datum of gage: 426.233 ft NAVD88 based on a Level 2 Static GNSS survey processed through OPUS, Ref Frame NAD83 (2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000) ITRF2014 (EPOCH:2023.0706) and Geiod18.  The survey was completed on January 26th, 2023, while occupying a TRM that was referenced to local datum via differential levels. 

Prior to January 26th, 2023, the datum of the gage was 425.96 ft NGVD29 based on a differential levels circuit to USC&GS BM C-804.

REMARKS - Records poor. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of June 15, 1935, reached a stage of 24 ft due to backwater from Colorado River. A flood in 1919 reached a stage of 22 ft, from information by local residents. Maximum stage since at least 1891, that of May 25, 1981.
