USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
08166200 Guadalupe River at Kerrville, TX
LOCATION - Lat 30°03'11", long 99°09'47" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Kerr County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12100201, on left bank, 300 ft downstream from left end of Kerrville Dam, 1.0 mi upstream from mouth of Town Creek, and 1.4 mi upstream from State Highway 16 on Guadalupe Street at Guadalupe Park in Kerrville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 510 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1986 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,601.00 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Apr. 4, 1989, at site 300 ft upstream, and on opposite bank at datum 1.0 ft lower. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Records fair for WY. Since installation of gage in 1986, at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. Prior to April, 1989, records are not equivalent with present site because at times dam operators released water from the dam through a 36-inch and 12-inch pipe, and through a 10-ft flume at right end of dam. Also, a 200-ft notch at left end of dam gave poor correlation with flows below 100 ft³/s. Numerous diversions for irrigation above station, amounts unknown. Prior to April 4, 1989, a -19.66 ft data correction needs to be applied to all stage data to equilibrate it to current local gage datum. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 196,000 ft³/s, 39 ft July 2, 1932, from information by local resident.
